Maynooth 'Film for All' - Bosnian War

'As If Im Not There' is a modern war testimony about the story of a young woman from Sarajevo. Based on Croatian journalist and writer Slavenka Drakulic's book of the same name, it explores love, identity and the connections between us.
The film is directed by Juanitra Wilson, an Irishwoman. The film is the Irish nomination for the 'Best Foreign Film' category at the 2012 Oscars.
Dr John Paul Newman, the new Fellow of the Centre, will introduce the context and background to the movie.
