Dear subscribers,
The Centre has learned that regrettably a number of people coming to Maynooth for Dr Yemelianova’s talk left under the impression that the venue, the John Hume Boardroom was closed and the talk had been cancelled without further notice.
In fact, the seminar was held as scheduled yesterday in the John Hume Boardroom, with some twenty participants. As usual, one of our fellows checked a couple of minutes past six, immediately before the talk began, that no one was standing in front of the room and that the lift was working.
We have no explanation why a number of people obviously thought that the room was locked (it was not!) and we apologies, sincerely regretting the inconveniencies caused. We may in future suggest additional communications channels, maybe a contact telephone number, in order to avoid deplorable situations like the one that obviously occurred yesterday.
